What a week!

I know all you Canadian readers think it's funny to see the South shut down for 6-7 inches of snow, but it's just so rare, everyone flips out.  Schools closed Wednesday - Saturday (they originally scheduled a Saturday school...) and they'll probably be on a delay Monday morning, yet it's supposed to be in the upper 60's this week, if not hit 70!  It's just the craziest thing, y'all, but we love it!  It snowed twice more, including this morning, but nothing really substantial.
Despite the storm, I consigned and shopped at Wee Trade this week and it was incredible.  It was also P Week around here, so how else celebrate it than having Papa John's pizza?  And we still have some leftovers as well, so it's the gift that keeps on giving.  We made Valentine's cookies and Marcus loved that, but they tasted awful.  What to do?  Go get the store-made cookie dough & re-do it. :)  Anyhow, enjoy the pics and have a great week, wherever you are.

Marcus and Daddy playing a little before Marcus' swimming lesson.

I couldn't find Marcus and this is where he was.

Someone found my phone unlocked & had a ball with it...

Crazy hair - cute grin

My new t-shirt!!!

He LOVED his first taste of black beans.

Double carts at the grocery store are fantastic.

Getting ready for church last Sunday.

Marcus' first deposit with money he made himself.

Hot chocolate warms the body & soul after being out in the cold snow.

I see two little teeth!

It's ridiculous how cute I think they are.

Rolling out the dough.

So serious

Love them.

Snow Day!!!

On Wednesday, February 12th, meteorologists were calling for a LOT of snow in the Southern states, including Asheville.  Since it was Mark's normal day off, we all slept in.  It started snowing around 9am but didn't start sticking until later in the afternoon.  In what I originally thought would be a forecast bust, it turns out they were right!  We currently have almost 6 inches of snow and it's still coming down as I type this.  It's cold and semi-windy out there right now, but still fun to play in.  Mark, Marcus, and some of our neighbors shoveled the front hill while I pulled Titus around on the sled.  That was short lived for two reasons: 1) It was his normal morning nap time 2) Snow was blowing right into his face.  Not to mention, he hated life when he face planted into the snow.  I brought him in and put him to bed without hardly a whimper.  He just needed to warm up and rest.
Marcus took a break from shoveling and went sledding with our neighbor JoJo.  As stated in previous posts, he ADORES her, and I think she feeling is mutual.  She's just such a sweet spirited child.  Anyhow, they sledded a while, then when she and her mom went inside, Marcus went back to shoveling.  Since playing is much more fun than work, both Marcus and Mark went sledding some more before coming in for lunch.
Now, all four of us are keeping warm inside, eating lunch, coloring, and playing go-fish (Marcus' favorite new game).  I'm especially excited about all the hot chocolate going around because I made fresh whipped cream this week and it's DIVINE in hot chocolate.
Oh, and in case you're wondering what Mark's doing home today, we caught a break.  The bakery in South Carolina that makes the bread he delivers had a power outage.  Bread won't be delivered to the warehouse until later today or tonight.  So let me just say, it couldn't get any better around here.  We're all home, safe & healthy, warm & dry, and really enjoying each other's company.  I'm not sure we could be more filled with joy.

After lunch - it's time to draw in the snow with colored water!!! :)

Marcus playing in Monday's surprise snow.

Rolling down the hill is his new favorite thing.

Sweet little grin

Marcus was done working and ready to play.

Climbing the hill with his good friend JoJo.

Aren't they just the cutest?!

Giving him a push down the STEEP hill.

Man down!

Now it was time to ride with Daddy.

This was my view from the kitchen as I cooked lunch.  Go Fish with dolphin boy.

While the children are away (napping), the parents will play!

Nothing deep today, but plenty of pictures!

     SO...

My past two blogs have been heart-felt, thought-provoking, and "deep" to some degree.  This week, I'm back to being swamped again and apologize for the tardiness.  For all you dedicated followers out there (eh, Canadian family!) here are a few pictures to sum up our past few weeks.

Our sweet boys playing at Chick-Fil-A one blustery day in January.

In Mama's lap seems to be a pretty comfortable place to be.

Even though he only has two teeth, dental hygiene is very important to Titus.

A picture from Titus' dedication January 12th.

Matching space pajamas.  They both are SO HAPPY to see each other in the morning.

Last week Marcus learned about the letter N.

Transitioning out of naps, but I need the alone time.  So he reads on our bed.

Crazy haired Titus!

This snow was so cold and dry that it swept right off the pavement.  Marcus, however, thought it needed to be shoveled.

Math lesson

"You're going to give me some, right?"  "My juice - keep away."

Titus at his first UNCA Basketball game.

We were surprised at how much he LOVED it.  He clapped the whole first half.

"B is for Bulldogs!"

Marcus loved the basketball AND the big bowl of ice cream.

My precious boys.  Love them.

After the game, Mark and Marcus got to go down onto the court for a bit while I finished feeding Titus.

When we got home, Mark insisted on taking Marcus to go sledding down our hill since it would thaw out the following morning.  They skidded down our hill so many times (and went so fast) that they broke Marcus' sled into pieces!  Marcus looks miserable in this picture but really, he squealed with joy the whole time.

Our sweet Titus is not yet crawling (and I'm soooo ok with that).

His favorite new saying is, "Smell my fist."  Wonder who taught him that?

Smiling at other kids at the Mountain Play Lodge.

He always loves "riding" this bear.

My cousin Ashley, her husband Mario, and their son Max came to town for a few days.  Max is about 3 months older than Titus.  It was blue/green day apparently!

Sweet babies!

Ashley, Max, Titus, & Me - it's always good to see family.

Smiling behind his paci.

Marcus was so happy that we were able to pick up his friend Lily from school and take her home yesterday.  They jabbered and laughed the whole way to her house.

Titus was smacking Marcus in the face and they both thought it was hilarious.

Being good boys and chillin' at the salon while Mommy & Daddy did a little work.

Love those dimples in his hands.

Someone loved blueberries and apples this morning!
